Our Mission

Sanctuary For The Skies is dedicated to the protection and preservation of all bird species through youth led bird conservation. We believe that birds play a vital role in the health and balance of our planet and are committed to safeguarding their future. To achieve our mission, we work to create safe havens for birds by establishing sanctuaries and protecting essential habitat areas. We also recognize the importance of native plants in supporting bird populations and strive to increase their presence through education and restoration efforts. In addition to these on-the-ground actions, we are committed to raising awareness about the importance of birds and the steps individuals can take to support them. This includes the use of social media to share information and engage with our followers, as well as the sale of bird-friendly products, such as feeders, birdhouses, native plants, and coffee.

Impact

Through our powerful youth-led leadership, support from the Illinois Ornithological Society & collaboration with the esteemed Illinois Audubon Society - Sanctuary For The Skies has established Sanctuaries across the Midwest, provided refuge for over 30 bird species, engaged thousands on social media, and is at the forefront of conservation and advocacy internationally.
